Get Blog Traffic by Posting

Sounds easy enough, right? Well, believe it or not, some people don’t think it is. If you keep up with a once a day posting schedule, you will see an increase in regular readers without any doubt. Granted, you still have to be providing some kind of value to them, so don’t let that slip away.
The more often I have posted on any of my blogs, the more results I see on Google search for my domain. I am not sure if it matters to Google, but the more updates I have for them to spider, the better it seems to be.
Remember that saving drafts is not a bad thing. When I have something pop into my head it goes in a post right away. If I am not happy with the information that I have on the topic, I save it as draft and continue after further research.
I have also noticed that when readers get your feed, they want to see catchy titles. The title of this post, “Get Blog Traffic by Posting“, seems like a no brainer, but it’s really for the search engine traffic
I found that if you keep the keywords, that appear in your title, throughout your post, the post will rank higher and in turn I started to see better results. It’s important to have backlinks, but that will come after you are ranking in the search engines.
I don’t try and shoot for any particular keyword, I just make sure that it is scattered in the post so the search engines find it important to some degree.
Do you consider SEO when you come up with a title for your post?

I have a Twitter account and I actually am quite impressed with it. I have only had it for about 2 weeks now and I already have more followers than I thought I would have. I think that most of them are from the Bloggeries Forum, but who cares, people are following.

If you don’t know what Twitter is, let me explain. It is sort of like an instant messaging service, but can be a very unique marketing tool. It allows you to post up to 150 characters and send a message to your followers with one click.
Users can reply to your comment or post their own. Many people have Twitter accounts and love being able to follow eachother throughout the day and what is on their minds. I am really trying to find a WP plugin or a Twitter toolbar that I can install because I really hate going to my account just to post.
I will for now because I am trying it out, but if it becomes to much in the future I will most likely just not visit as much. For now I am trying to build my follower base and use it for marketing my blogs.

Most of us have ONE blog, I have many. The reason is that each time I learn more about what I should be doing and the reasons that things I do, aren’t working. On this blog I wanted to start with fresh content, from me.
So, I thought I would post about what tips I learned the hard way.
- Don’t copy other bloggers. What is this really going to get you?
- Get some SEO done as soon as you make your first post. If the search engines can’t find you for the right reasons, you aren’t going anywhere online.
- Get a custom theme. Start with any theme but default, but make sure you pool some $$ together to get one made up as soon as you can. You will want to make a name for yourself ASAP.
- Blog on a regular basis. People come back to blogs because they have information that is useful.
- Don’t always rely on return readers. Once they subscribe it’s hard to get them to come back to the actual blog. Concentrate on getting new readers with fresh content.
- Forget the contests. They are hard to run, regulate and a waste of your time for short term readers.
And that’s it for Blog Tips I Learned Part I. I hope that if you have done some these things you are trying to revert back to doing “things your way”. If you liked this post, make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss the other parts of this series.
